sanded wood
The spring and Autumn high tides bring with them an abundance of driftwood.
Suitable wood is gathered, cleaned and stored to dry.
The wood is cut to size and tastefully shaped to enhance it's natural beauty.
It is then sanded and smoothed to a silky finish.

The finished article

Each frame is unique as there are so many different types of wood that wash up on the shore. Some dark hardwoods will complement a sunset image where a bleached white frame may be better suited to a daytime beach scene.

Driftwood Frame by Graham McPherson

When I first started making frames from Driftwood I never did much sanding or smoothing but now I can spend a good few hours from start to finish just producing a single frame.

Canvases are glued onto mdf board and then vaneered with Glamour II coating to protect them. They are then matched up with a suitable colour driftwood. The end result is a unique work ready to hang on the wall that will last for generations.

If you want to order a photograph on canvas in a driftwood frame then please get in touch and we can discuss your requirements. You can call me, Graham McPherson (uk) on 01278 784838 or mobile 07809 688968
